“Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.” Anthony Robbins

How do you speed up your productivity? You ask yourself questions. It’s an amazing method of getting you back on track. In fact, it’s so important that Donald Trump says, “When you feel confused or at a loss of what do do next, ask yourself, ‘what should I be thinking about right NOW?’, this will get you back on track in a matter of seconds!”

It’s true that one of the secrets to success is Self Mastery.

Your brain is like Google! When you ask it a question it goes though millions of database entries, looking for the best possible answer. The cool thing is, the better the question you ask, the better an answer your brain is able to give. Another thing I find about asking myself questions is that it always gives an honest answer. If you ask yourself, “What am I pretending NOT to see?” you’ll automatically come up with the answer to your question.

Henrik Edberg Executive Decision dvd says that:

Asking yourself questions is a great way to keep yourself on track in day to day life. Cutting out and letting go of irrelevant stuff can help you to simplify and relaxify your life. It can help you to find more time for the things that are fun and really important to you.

So combining these two things can be very helpful. Here are three quick questions that can help you to cut irrelevant stuff out of your life.

As you use the questions more and more they tend to start to pop up almost automatically at useful points in your everyday life.

Three questions to ask yourself daily:

  • Is this really important?
  • What is the most important thing I should be thinking about right NOW?
  • Will this matter in 5 years?

As a result you’ll have more time for fun stuff and will be able to enjoy your life more often!

5 Creative ways to get people to your blog

1. Write about other people/start-ups/businesses

While back I wrote a post about Maynas Eric Chua called Maynas Eric Chua on Building Trust Mask of the Ninja dvd Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia video The Hustler download . About an appearance he made on Singapore News TV station. I knew Eric for a while on Twitter and he was quite an inspiration, as well as one of my first users on my startup, PutFeed.com. I thought, what a great way to add value to my blog as well as send some hits his way. Eric is in the top 3 Twitter users in Singapore and has over 30,000 followers. This guy deserves a post written about him:)

2. Guest Posts

You may not be the most popular person in the world. But you may know a few other bloggers who have connections. Ask them to write a quick guest post on your blog. Chances are they will send hits to the post they just wrote via Twitter or FaceBook, thus giving you more publicity and some credibility in the blogging community. You become open to your Guest’s network, and hey they might know tons of people. It just opens up more opportunity plus adds some fresh ideas to your blog.

3. Interviews

I Love You, Man video

Interviewing is another great way to gain credibility and to give others some publicity. There’s a lot of entrepreneurs, lawyers, brokers, real estate and web design experts that would be glad to participate in an interview. This shows that you have some connections in the blogging community and once again, opens up your blog to the networks of other people.

There are a few ways to undertake an interview:

  • Video(post them on YouTube and other video sharing sites)
  • Plain old blog post
  • Podcast

(You decide the rest, be creative)

4. Ping Other Blog Posts

Romeo Is Bleeding full movie

This is a great way to get ideas for new blog posts and add value to other blogs at the same time. When you see a blog post you like and that you could add some thoughts to, write your own blog post and ping them back(using the ping url). They will love you for it whether you agree or disagree with their views. The fact that you took the time to respond to their post is a sign of appreciation.

5. Stay Connected

Americanizing Shelley move

With all the great online and desktop tools we have the ability to stay connected with our community in half the time we used to. Stay connected with people in your niche by doing the following:

  • Subscribing to their blogs
  • Posting comments to their blog posts(people love it when you post sincere comments)
  • Tweet their blog posts and let them know that you are by adding their @username in the tweet.
  • Share their blog posts in your FaceBook statuses.
  • Connect them with other people in your network.
  • Share your own blog posts with them after you’ve added value to their blogs.
  • Send a personal e-mail to new blog posters thanking them for their contribution. Give them the chance to reply.

If you stay connected with people they’ll return the favor and send some blog comments or recommendations your way. The rules are, ONE. be sincere, TWO. Add value before expecting others to add value to you.

Joining the conversion, Experimenting Marketing on Twitter.

Twitter’s all a buzz now days as it reaches massive numbers of user accounts. Something Twitter lacks is a business model for generating income. Does Twitter have a business model ready for implementation? I don’t really know. Up until now, many believe, Twitter is merely a social experiment. The concept of micro-blogging is new to a lot of people. Though there are a few Social Media “experts” that have inside knowledge and understand Twitter’s potential, most people still don’t understand what social media is, or why they should use it. People and businesses, that is.

“Why should I use twitter and social media services for marketing my business?”

Blast from the Past release
Before you jump on the bandwagon, do some research. The first thing you should know and understand is if social media suits your business or not.

Will your clients use social media?
Is it a way to find new customers?

Second of all, don’t expect guaranteed numbers. You cant expect X amount of hits by using so ‘n so method. This is something you are going to have to experiment with. Just signing up with Twitter and auto-tweeting advertisements isn’t going to do it.

Social media is about people and being human.

In my personal experience, you only build a real network when you build relationships. There is of course lots of distance between you and the other people online. You can shorten this distance by attending events or creating your own, however something I haven’t ever tried.

I have to say that most effective ways to build networks using social media(as well as offline for that matter) are these three things:

  • Trust.
  • Involvement, interaction & constant availability.
  • Sharing, giving and contributing to the value of their social media experience.
  • Having a brand that you can identify with.

Until you have most of these, especially number 1 & 3 you’re going to have a hard time getting THEM involved i your startups or business.

Experiment, Experiment, Experiment!!

1. The best way to learn how to market on sites like Twitter is to get on Twitter and follow some of the great minds of Social Media, learn a thing or two from them.

2. The second best way is to just go ahead a try it out, make mistakes and try different techniques.

3. Write up a little marketing plan.
This may be way over simplistic but all I do for my marketing on Twitter is use half a page of scrap paper, and write down a few items like so:

  • RT 5 interesting tweets.
  • Share 4 links.
  • Ask 3 Questions
  • Answer 2 Questions
  • Interact with a few followers.
  • Connect 3 people with other people in your network.
  • Follow/Meet 3 new people.

…Something like that. make sure you know how much time you spend each day on twitter, since this can be quite time consuming. You need to experiment before you know how much time you need.

Keep adjusting your marketing plan and experimenting until it improves.

A few things you want to avoid:

In the Land of Women hd

1. Avoid spamming or what *looks* like spamming.
This may be pretty damn obvious…don’t spam people. Duh! Though I think we all make the mistake at first: things like auto-DMs, Follow Fridaying mega loads of people, or tweeting a massive wad of blog posts or “advertising” to people. Anytime you do something excessively, ask yourself: is this having a positive impact on my network, am I creating value.

2. Avoid being shallow.
Again, back to the advertising part. You’re not here to advertise or wave a bill board in people’s faces. You’re here to build relationships and introduce people to your business or service. Social media is about “being more human” and businesses are using it for just that reason. If you’re a cold hard machine that talks only about your company, tweets links to your site adn never really interacts with people, you’re not about of the community, you’re a broken link.

3. Avoid giving brain aneurysms with your profile design.
I’ve seen some very nice profile designs and backgrounds and I’ve seen some butt-ugly designs that made me wish I had never seen Twitter in the first place :D The nicer your design, the more followers you’ll get.

What motivates you? How do you stay motivated?

Positive motivation is when you have your eye on achieving something at the end of the day. A negative motivator drives you to get yourself out of an unpleasant situation, like current living circumstances.

The problem with positive motivators is that there is often no recompense for giving up. Your life doesn’t depend on succeeding so life goes on whether you succeed or not. People do amazing things when they’re motivated to win something or driven by the prospect of achievement. People give up on things they never really wanted in the first place. Comfortable or entitled people usually aren’t the most motivated by anything–after all–if you have it already, you don’t need it.

Decide what motivates you and use both the positive and negative motivators in your life you drive you to bettering you life. On a daily basis ask yourself:

1. What will happen if I don’t do this?

Bulletproof Monk video

In the end will those critics and doubters get the chance to say, “haha I told you so, always knew you could never do it.” or “I knew you’d never get that deal” or “The closest you’ll ever get to owning that car is test driving it…”

2. How much closer will I be to my goal if I do?
Great achievement starts with great desire to get what you want. If we didn’t all work towards what we wanted we wouldn’t need to get out of bed in the morning.

90% is Your Response.

Beowulf move

You can use fear to motivate you and increase your drive or you can allow it to destroy you. It was Zig Ziglar that said, “10% is what happens to you, 90% is your response.” You allow negativity, fear and inadequacy to keep you down. On the converse negativity, fear and inadequacy can become your motivators. Your naysayers also become your motivators. What happens isn’t as important as HOW you respond to what happens.
